California has long been known as a place where lawsuits run rampant, and that reputation is reflected in a new report that ranks the Golden State as the second worst “judicial hellhole” in the nation.
This is the second year in a row that the American Tort Reform Foundation has bestowed that label on California. The foundation has been documenting developments in jurisdictions where civil court judges allegedly apply laws and court procedures in an unfair and unbalanced manner — generally to the disadvantage of defendants.
